Food Diary

For the next week i am going to be writing a food diary, i am going to try and live like a model does- but i wont go to the extreme, i am going to push myself though to my extreme and see what happens, what i will eat is a lot of fruit drink a lot of water and coffee, eat  a lot  of salad and egg whites.

Why am i doing this? 

the reason for doing this is because i want to make this more personal, i want to become part of my project and also i don't want to talk about it but not actually experience it other wise i don't actually think i really understand it. i will push myself i am going to get a friend to take a few photos of me as i think that it will be a good idea as i have never been in front of the camera. I know this will make me very uncomfortable but i want to experience it and break some barriers for myself.

August Sander - Photographer 1876-1964

 August Saunders- he was a portrait and documentary photographer who lived and was born in Germany in the 1900- Some of his photographers where taken when he was in the military, Saunders book "Face of out Time" was published in 1929 but due to the new Nazi regime his work was not aloud to be shown- the reason for this is because Saunders took photographs or normal Germans, but none of them where blond , tall and good looking, and Hitler did not like this. therefore they where band because they didn't have the right look.

I have been looking into August sanders work- its is very interesting because even though his photography is about fashion or even ballet his worked was removed due to the fact that Hitler wanted a look a certain type of person-its the same with fashion , if someone if not attractive/not photographic or overweight they will not accept them into the industry. His work is very interesting also his life story. His work has been up in many different galleries such as the Tate, the getty museum, andrew smith gallery and many others.

"Man of the Twentieth Century" was Sander's monumental, lifelong photographic project to document the people of his native Westerwald, near Cologne. Stating that "[w]e know that people are formed by the light and air, by their inherited traits, and their actions. We can tell from appearance the work someone does or does not do; we can read in his face whether he is happy or troubled," Sander photographed subjects from all walks of life and created a typological catalogue of more than six hundred photographs of the German people. Although the Nazis banned the portraits in the 1930s because the subjects did not adhere to the ideal Aryan type, Sander continued to make photographs. After 1934 his work turned increasingly to nature and architectural studies.

Fashion and what The strict regime on photographs in Germany during the war are very similar it is all about looks and beauty.
