How i am going to move on from this.

this is not finished but i would love to buy a few mannequins and merge the two images of the mannequins body and than the top half of the person on to the mannequin i think that it would maybe make it easier but at the same time it would make the photograph look really good i think.

My Final Images

These at the bottom are my final images- i really like them i think that they portrayed what i wanted but i also have a lot more ideas that i can pursue with this. i think that the mannequins could look a lot better and if i had more time than i think that my skill could develop.

"We are Dolls Not Humans"

"Sometimes people forget your a Human"

"Sometime People Forget Your Human" By Rose Wilk-Mullis
This is my last final image i did this a while ago but i really think that from the set of images i did this was the best, she looks like an alien someone not in this planet which i really like. This is probably my favorite i have printed this also in A1 size and i think it looks great the image has really come out well large.

"You become this Living Doll"

I have changed the colour and also the the face and other things this is my final image this also will be A1 size. i want the viewer to look at it in detail and appreciate it.

Second image for My Final Piece.

I tried to mannequin but only the top half. This mannequin is was probably one of the hardest things i had to do. Photoshoping this to look like a mannequin is really difficult i still don't have it though i think that i need to make it look more like a mannequin than anything though my development has still not finished.

"Thats the worst part, being treated like a robot not a human being"

These are my final images of this image- but i don't know whether to have them in colour or in black and white? i think that both have different characteristics but i am not sure which one i am going to pick. I think that the colour makes it look more mannequin like which is what i am looking for.

Why did i name this piece " Thats the worst part, being treated like a robot not a human being"
Because i think that this image really resembels that she look like a robot but you can see that she is a human - hopefully

I have printed this out in different types of sizes i think that i am going to have it at a A1 size because i want to say something with how large it is - i think that it will have a bigger impact on people if it is a large image- i think that people will be more shocked than anything and i want the question " Is that a mannequin or a person" to be asked or " is that real"

My final images- experimental

All of these are experimental leading up to my final images- you may not be able to tell but they all have slight difference- i am trying to get it right but it really difficult i still don't know how i want it. i want them to look like mannequins so i had to get friends to tell me what i was doing wrong because i have been spending hours on one piece and than when i think its finished i will leave it than come back to it and see all the faults that i didn't. I am experimenting i trying to see whether i can make it look really fake. Its very difficult. I have been using photoshop and i have been experimenting with a lot of the things on photoshop which i like. I found many tools and different layering techniques which have made me create this.

What to do now?

Well i have decided that i want to have my final piece as in colour, i think that black and white is really nice but i want these images to be more shocking, i want people to question whether or not these models are mannaquins or people, i dont want people to know. I want the question "are they real" so therefore i decided that black and white is two obvious i want to take a risk.
I am going to take a few images hopefully full body ones and develop my ideas from there.

Moving towards my final Piece

These images are experimental work, i have been developing my ideas more and more and trying to find a solutions, On photoshop i have been investigating how to create mannaquins - i have developed some new skills on photoshop, which i have enabled me to create more porcilin faces and bodies but i am still have trouble with the body. The top one is the best that i achieved but there is something missing.

I am happy with these but not happy enough to stop.

Valerie Belin

Valerie Belin is a french artist- who lives and works in Paris. She has many different types of work - one that is very similar to one of the artist that i have looked at called Orlan who did a series of self portraits- with different religious themes to theme, Like Orlan Valerie has also explored - they aren't entirely the same but both remind me of each other.

Her work that has inspired me is the ones that she has done of the mannaquins- it has really caught my eye- i think that these mannaquins are really good- she took photographs of mannaquins which i think makes it a bit more exciting. http://www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/2008/jul/03/bestshot.valerie.belin

"The original idea was to make photographs that evoked perfect virtual women, like Lara Croft. But I wanted to shoot a real object, not something from a computer. And then I thought of mannequins. A woman told me about the designer Adel Rootstein, whose realistic models are the Rolls-Royce of mannequins. So I went to a warehouse that had hundreds, all cast from real women. You might have the arms of one woman with the legs of another and the face of a third.
Most of the time, even after a while, people still don't know. During exhibitions, when I am there but nobody knows I'm the artist, I can hear people talking among themselves while looking at it, saying: "It is real." Or: "No, no, no. It's not real!" It's good - it means I've done what I set out to do."

Eyes- Me trying out Oleg Duryagin work

I found an artist called Oleg Duryagin and i really liked his work i decided that i wanted to create something similar as his work is very polished- these images where experimental i started with the colour ones at the bottom which i thought turned out quite well for my first go but as i started to get better at using photoshop i made them look more real. these images below are my tester i have a few more in my sketch book of how i got to the final image-
MY CONCLUSION:
The colour image i don't really like as they make it look to paint like but the black and white ones really bring out what i am trying to portray- i want the eyes to look fresh/untouched and bizarre at the same time. i think i need to work on them a bit more to make them look just right i want to incorporate them into my final images which would make the whole image look a lot better- creating a manaquin out of a human being is what i want to do , as model are just robot- they walk down the cat walk and up again- they have to do what they are told. I want to make the whole face doll like- no eye lashes- i think that this would make my models look more like mannequins and i want them to look as fake as possible.

Barbies

The Perfect human ?

These images i took - they are mannequins- i have created them into these perfect people/aliens who look so fake that it is almost disturbing to look at. i like these but i think i need to create more- i have a few more ideas.

Oleg Duryagin

This is an artist that i found- His work is very interesting and exciting i find it very powerful, I want to create something with this-

"My favourite thing is to show something in other not stereotypical way. It can be scary nuns, people pretending to cry or unhappy children - everything that is not expected to see.
I use artificial nature of a digital photography as a tool to reach the point between opposites such as alive and dead, attractive and disturbing, beautiful and ugly. Thus I’m searching to transcribe the feeling of presence that you get while passing the plastic mannequin."

Picture Me: A Models Diary

Yesterday i watched the documentary about a Model called- Sara Ziff who has modeled for people such as Chanel, Tommy Hilfiger and other top brands, She starts a documentary of Model life- and what really happens behind the glam and glits of these out of this world people.
I was really intrigued by this because this is is excatly what i need for my FMP, I took a lot of notes and quotes from In my book. I will write a few that stood out to me.

-"Do you think that models are overcritical of themselves?"
"Yes...Definitely"
"Why?"
" I don't know, not one single model says i have a perfect body i love it- not one"

"people have slapped my thighs and said that they are too fat"

"It becomes a competition, i can be skinner than all the other models"

"you become the living doll"

"That's the worst part being treated like a robot not a human being"

"Being Skinny is the one thing you can control"

The thing about modeling is that they get scouted at the age of 12 or younger and than when they turn 15/16 they are modeling they drop out of school and model, when they get to the age of 27 - people don't want them unless they are top models, what do they do after that?

"'We would put her in this outfit except her butt is a little bit to big for it lets put it on her' than you starat thinking my butt is two big- you heat it often enough and you really start to believe it"

Mannequins

Robots

ORLAN

Researching into ORALN:
she is a french artist who Completely transformed her face- through plastic surgery- She wanted to change the idea of "differences" and break differences.

"I always tried, in my work, to break the barriers between sexes and genders, generations and artistic practices."
"Before i use to say that i am against all discrimination but  now i say, I am a feminist, neo-feminist, post feminist, and alter-feminist. All my life i came second as men were always  coming first"
